Lacy Heart Pancakes: Easy Valentine’s Day breakfast recipe

February 12, 2016

Ahhh! Who else is working this Valentine’s Day gig at the last minute like me?

I’ve had a (very) crazy week that you probably wouldn’t believe even if I told you. So I won’t tell you. Because you’ve probably had a crazy week, too. But fret not: Just because we haven’t planned, doesn’t mean that we can’t pull of making Valentine’s Day special this year. We can. We will! Thanks to this easy, super-duper cute Valentine’s Day breakfast recipe for Lacy Heart Pancakes.

All you need for these babies is your favorite pancake batter, thinned out a bit. And, yes, even if it’s from a box. (Although, why not try your hand at a very simple scratch pancake recipe?) You could also use a squeeze bottle with a fine tip but, if you don’t have one (I don’t), just use a plastic zip-top bag. Watch for details on how to make it work.

Once you fill your squeeze bottle or baggie with batter and heat your pan or griddle, making these is as easy as piping out a heart pattern and lacy pattern inside. It takes a few tries to get it right—and I learned a few tricks along the way that I share in the video—but it’s super easy. And very cute.

And you can make them, no planning required. Phew!

P.S. As you know by now, most of the ideas on One Hungry Mama are mine and when they aren’t—when I find something too cute or delicious not to share—I always give credit. I found this simple Valentine’s Day geniusness at A Designer Life. Check it out and you’ll find so much more. Jenn is pretty awesome.
